Program Description

The Berkeley Adult School has been providing quality education since 1881. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Our mission is to ensure that adult learners have equal access to learner-centered education and training as a lifelong process in a cohesive, supportive and multicultural environment. We offer a wide variety of courses to address the needs and interests of our diverse community.

Admission Policy
Classes are primarily for adults 18 years and older.

Fees and Class Size
ESL, Adult Basic Education, High School Diploma, Adults with Disabilities, and Older Adult classes are free. Community service class fees are listed next to the course titles in the catalogue and website. Citizens 60 years of age or over receive a reduction of 25% for most classes. Fees are based on number of students needed to cover class cost. Classes with low enrollment may have the fees and/or hours adjusted.
